CRINODENDRON Ada Hoffman \nMore commonly known as Pink Chilean Lantern Tree \nOriginating in Chile, Crinodendron hookerianum is a large, evergreen shrub with upright shoots and narrow, toothed, 10cm long, dark green leaves and dangling red urn-shaped flowers. \nA rare and very striking new introduction, Ada Hoffman carries attractive, waxy, pale-pink, pendant flowers in place of the usual red, the leaves are also slightly longer. \nIn full bloom this is a real head turner, with the flowers produced in great abundance early in the year before many other plants have reached their peak. \nCrinodendron Ada Hoffman is perfect for adding an exotic touch to the garden and given time this beautiful shrub makes an extremely attractive specimen. \nIn particularly cold weather the leaves may bruise and turn purplish bronze but generally speaking the plant recovers and sprouts new leaves the following year. \nA lightly shaded, well sheltered site with moist, well-drained, humus rich soil is the preferred choice of Crinodendron Ada Hoffman but full sun will be tolerated providing the roots are planted in shade. \nAcid soil is a must for Crinodendron. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the plant at all times of the year. \nOur Crinodendron plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nRoger Crookes has a wonderful little  on this super plant. \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nWe also supply a huge range of other shrubs, . \nPlease remember plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Crinodendron are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website.
