Connect the red test lead to the VΩmA socket (up to 200mA, for current over 200mA up to 10A 10A socket is appropriate) and the black one to the COM socket. Plug the test leads in series into the circuit to be measured. Read the value on the display (polarity of the red test lead shown). Voltage measurement V DC and V AC: Set the range switch to the appropriate DCV and ACV range (if you do not know the measured voltage - choose the largest range). Attach the red test lead to the VΩmA socket and the black lead to the COM socket. Plug parallel test leads into the circuit to be measured. Read the value on the display (polarity of the red test lead shown). Transistor Test: Set the meter range switch to the hFE position. Insert the transistor terminals (ECBE) (PNP/NPN) into the test socket as appropriate. Read the approximate hFE value (Ib=10μA / Vce=2.8V). Disconnect the test leads from the circuits to be measured before measuring. Diode Test: Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red lead to the VΩmA. Set the range switch to position and switch the red test lead to the anode and the black lead to the cathode of the diode to be measured. The meter will indicate the approximate forward voltage of the diode. With the wires reversed, "1" will be displayed. Resistance measurement: Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red lead to the VΩmA. Set the meter range switch to Ω and connect the test leads to the resistor to be measured. Read the value on the display.
