The high-power soft-start board uses FR4 fiber PCB, with dimensions of 74mm x 57mm x 1.6mm. The finished board height is only 26mm. The circuit features an original and newly designed layout. Upon power-on delay, the relay shorts out the power resistor, which consists of four NTC 10D-20 negative temperature coefficient thermistors. This design allows the load voltage to rise smoothly to the mains level, protecting the rectifier bridge and large electrolytic capacitor, thereby extending the service life of the appliance. Tested to handle a 2000W load reliably. Equipped with a 30A 6600W sealed relay. The working principle is as follows: when power is applied, a delay occurs during startup. The NTC thermistors are connected in series with the output load circuit to limit and control inrush current. After the delay period, the relay bypasses the NTC resistors, allowing direct power output and completing the soft start process. (24V relay controls 220V voltage output) The circuit design eliminates the need for an additional small transformer. Soft start functionality primarily protects the rectifier bridge and large capacitor, preventing bridge failure and capacitor breakdown, while extending component lifespan. The total current is limited to 5A, reducing power grid impact during startup and helping prevent circuit breaker tripping.
