B-series are DOHC inline four cylinder engines. They were installed on various cars manufactured by car between 1989 and 2001. Although it has many variations, the basic design differs very little between all the B series engines. There are actually only two blocks used for the entire series. The main difference between them is the height of the cover. The B16 engine appeared in 6 different models over the years. To identify any B series engine, have each engine's code etched into the block, under the distributor, next to the transmission.
